Hi there,
We made it to the end of Week 1! That’s worth pausing on for a moment.
Not because this week was difficult in a dramatic way, but because taking time to reflect is harder than it looks. Most of us move straight to fixing. You stayed long enough to notice what’s actually been shaping your days.
Today is about closing that loop.
Week 1: Looking back
This week is about spotting patterns before we try to change anything. Not judging past decisions. Not fixing. Just noticing.
Week 1, Day 5: What you’re ready to repeat less
Looking across this week’s reflections, what’s one recurring pattern you’re ready to repeat less going into the new year?
Not eliminate.
Not overhaul.
Just repeat less.
This might be something that:
worked on paper but drained you
you defaulted to without re-choosing
quietly expanded beyond what you intended
You’re not fixing it yet. Today’s about naming it.
One important note before you move on:
You may have surfaced more than one recurring pattern this week. That’s normal. You can write them all down. But for this reset challenge, choose one pattern to carry into Week 2.
The prompts in Weeks 2 and 3 are repeatable. You can run through them again later with a different pattern if you want.
For now, as you kick off the year, the most useful thing you can do is choose one. You’re far more likely to stick with a change when you don’t try to change everything at once.
My example
For me, it’s defaulting to availability.
Being in constant meetings, staying highly responsive, and letting focus time be optional worked in many ways. But it also meant I spent most days reacting instead of thinking.
It’s not something I need to eliminate, but it is something I’m ready to repeat less.
How to complete today’s prompt
Write down the one pattern you’re ready to repeat less.
That’s it. One sentence is enough.
If replying to this email helps with accountability, hit reply. If you’d rather keep it private, jot it down somewhere just for you.
Next week, we’ll use this pattern as the input for a small, intentional reset.
For now, take a moment to acknowledge that you completed Week 1. That matters more than you think!
If you’d like to share a reflection from this week on social media, feel free to tag me! I’d genuinely love to read what came up for you.
See you next week,
Kelly
